Why Guard matters here

CSGOEmpire does not take Counter-Strike skins into a house bot. Official help describes deposits and withdrawals as player-to-player Steam trades. The confirmation that actually moves an AWP or a knife is a Steam confirmation. If Steam Guard is off, weak, or phished, marketplace skill will not save the inventory.

What Steam Guard is

Steam Guard is Steam’s two-factor layer: a code or mobile confirmation in addition to the password. The mobile authenticator is the version that also gates trade and market confirmations. Email-only Guard still helps logins; it is not the same as confirming a trade on a phone you control.

Two-factor authentication reduces account takeover risk. It does not make you immune. If someone has the password and can intercept email, or if you approve a confirmation you did not initiate, items still move. Guard is a brake, not a guarantee.

Setup belongs on Steam

Do not download a “Guard for Empire” app. Enrol the authenticator through Steam’s documented path. If a CSGOEmpire-themed page offers to enable 2FA for you, that is a phishing pattern — see phishing.

   Read Steam’s Guard FAQ first

   Start at help.steampowered.com. Steam’s current clicks beat any third-party screenshot, including ours.

   Enrol the authenticator on a device you keep

   Use a phone you control. Store Steam’s backup/recovery material the way Steam describes — not in a public notes channel.

   Confirm it works on a low-stakes Steam action

   See a confirmation prompt appear for a Steam action you initiated. Then use CSGOEmpire P2P. Do not test Guard by sending items to a stranger.

Trades, holds, and confirmations

When you deposit, another player withdraws your listed item and you send/confirm the Steam trade. Auction trades documented by CSGOEmpire give a 30-minute send/confirm window; regular listings use 12 hours. Those timers are marketplace rules. They are not a reason to approve a confirmation you do not recognise.

Steam trade protection can hold or delay settlement for on the order of a week. CSGOEmpire’s instant-credit article discusses an approximately eight-day Steam trade protection hold in that context. Guard codes and phishing

A typical victim-facing pattern is urgency: “confirm this Guard code to release your withdrawal.” The attacker already started a login or trade and needs the code you are about to type. Steam’s phishing FAQ is the right next read. Our security page lists what never to share.

If you already typed a code into the wrong place, go to compromised account response immediately. Do not keep confirming “just one more” prompt.

Lost device or lockout

Steam documents recovery. CSGOEmpire cannot remove Guard from your Steam account. This website cannot either. If you cannot confirm trades, P2P deposits and withdrawals will stall until Steam access is restored — that is expected, not a hidden CSGOEmpire setting.

Account-specific CSGOEmpire questions still go to on-site support on csgoempire.com. Steam-specific lockouts go to Steam. Mixing those channels in a random Discord server is how people lose both.

New accounts can still use referral code MAX50 at signup, but a free case is not a reason to skip Guard before listing inventory. Read responsible gambling if you are depositing to chase losses.
